How is it Friday again so soon? I was home from Austin for only a couple of days before I flew to Asheville, NC, this time to meet my pen pal Jane. We've been writing emails back and forth for about two years, and this weekend we met face-to-face for the first time. It was an amazing trip, one I'll remember for a lifetime -- Jane is that kind of friend, one to cherish for a lifetime.
And although the last couple of weeks have been full of the most incredible type of fun, I'm ready to be home for a bit. While I recover, here are a few things I've been chewing on lately:
I've followed Sarah Fragoso's work for the last few years, but this post of hers is by far the best thing she's ever shared. It's a real -- and more importantly, realistic -- and honest perspective on her personal approach to living a wholesome, healthy life. Bonus! I've met her in person and she's just as amazing as she is on paper.
I'm making a fancy lunch for my grandma and my mom this Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day, and this polenta is the main inspiration for the menu. This chocolate mousse, though, is certain to steal the show.
The Consistency Challenge is a nice way to reframe the traditional "gym challenge" -- this one rewards the small steps taken to implement lasting change over time, which I think is a kinder, more gentle approach to habit change.
According to a new study, cheese is the secret to a longer life and a faster metabolism. Brie-lovers, rejoice!
And finally, a little bluegrass to start your weekend out on the right note. Cheers!
